Both of my sons mentioned in recent conversations that they are risk takers and adventurous and that they got it from me. Don't know if that is so, but as I look back I have taken risks that have worked and risks that have fallen flat.
Brian and Matt are European travelers, something which we desire to do and have not yet done. On his way to France last summer, Brian made a stop over in Iceland. Apparently, they offer cheap travel to boost their own understandably meager visitor lists. He loved swimming in the thermal pools and learned to pronounce the name of the recent volcano.
He also is passing on to the next generation how to use Lego sets creatively. He has been making houses like this since he was old enough to put them together. We put him on the red eye back home to work and school and his NYC life last evening. A great visit.

Well done! Giving the kids a sense of adventure (and the courage to pursue it) is a terrific legacy for any father.
